Keep Hustling Into 2019 With These Q2 Tech Conferences

How was your Q1? Busy? Productive? Were you struggling? Would some advice or inspiration help you out? In January, we shared some great tech conferences for Q1 that could help you live your tech dreams. Here’s how Q2 can keep that ball rolling. Good luck!

1. Techsauce Global Summit 2019

Date: June 19-20
Location: Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Bangkok, Thailand

What to Expect: opportunities to match your business to others, see the latest in tech in their exhibition area, workshops covering a variety of creative and tech topics, an invitation to their “Night of Mystery”

You may have heard of Techsauce, the Thailand-based tech and business media. Their commitment to developing the startup culture in Thailand and Southeast Asia has grown since their start in 2014, with this Summit becoming their third event. This time they want to cater not just to tech entrepreneurs but also startups in creative and cultural fields. With around 15,000 attendees from all over the world projected to come, you’re bound to make new connections and find amazing ways to collaborate. Registering now gets you tickets at a major discount — 3000THB (about 94 USD) for an individual ticket and larger discounts for buying 3 or 10 tickets at one time.

2. Innovfest Unbound

Date: June 27-28
Location: Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

What to Expect: listen to experts from a wide variety of tech fields and companies, opportunities to try out new tech, opportunities to pitch to investors, unwind with an epic after-party

This Unbound organized festival will bring hundreds of speakers on five stages covering topics focused on this year’s six themes, include AI, automation, and smart cities. In collaboration with Unilever, this year also has a Startup Battle where the winning startup will win 5,000 SGD and the opportunity to work with Unilever Foundry, Unilever’s business accelerator. (Applications for the startup battle end May 23.) If you think you’re the best cross-vertical startup, most impressive female entrepreneur, or just want a chance to pitch to investors, there will be competitions for that as well. (You’ll have to apply for these competitions in advance too.) The event is part of Singapore’s Smart Nation Innovations week, showcasing promising developments in Asia. Super early bird tickets are 300 SGD and 200 SGD for startups. Tickets at the door will be 950 SGD so book now if you want to go!

3. Artificial Intelligence Conference

Date: June 18-21
Location: Beijing, China

What to Expect: global AI experts discussing the use of AI in different fields and applications, AI training courses in PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Apache Kafka

As you could probably tell from the name, this conference is dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and will bring together an amazing collection of experts who are using the technology in their business. Attendees will see how AI works in the real-world with case studies, talks, training, and discussions on best practices. Presented by O’Reilly (the makers of those programming cookbooks with the white cover and line-drawing of an animal) and Intel AI, the event also covers topics like natural language processing, GAN, and machine learning. While many of the speakers will present in English, there will also be Chinese language only events. Ticket prices start at 2000 CNY to attend. If you’re only interested in the training courses, 3050 CNY will give you access.

4. Running Remote Conference

Date: June 29-30
Location: Bali, Indonesia

What to Expect: talks from people running remote teams in the tech industry, workshops, advice on how to best run your remote team

While not necessarily a tech-heavy event, the Running Remote conference is focused on an area of tech entrepreneurship that’s still important for success in today’s startup world: the remote team. Attendees will hear from companies like Shopify, Doist, and AngelList to see how established businesses are managing their workers remotely. Plus, the Bali beach side venue is a nice little break from the city. Individual pass prices currently start at 649 USD, but there are discounts galore for startups that want to bring their whole team. There are also a bunch of additional perks if you buy a ticket like a content audit, a free 1-hour PR strategy call, and an all-access pass to coworking spaces around Southeast Asia.

5. TNW2019

Date: May 9-10
Location: NDSM, Amsterdam

What to Expect: the tech world’s bests giving talks and advice, exhibition floor to discover new opportunities and ideas, pitch battle for startups, roundtable discussions, workshops

The TNW2019 conference is the technology festival run by the tech news website, TNW (thenextweb.com). Like the Techsauce event, the TNW2019 event encourages the businesses and investors in the tech sphere to talk and share ideas. Spread over thirteen themed stages, this year’s speakers include Wikipedia’s co-founder, Larry Sanger, Google’s Chief Decision Scientist, Cassie Kozyrkov, and the creator of Dogecoin, Jackson Palmer. For startups, there’s also a special TNW Startup Program where your team can get matched and meet with investors and you’ll be able to showcase your ideas on the Exhibition Floor. However, you’ll need to apply to get into the program. Tickets for the conference currently start from 149 Euros for just access to the expo and then 499 Euros for one-day full access. There are more discounts if you want to bring your team.
